Hidden parking for Herts refurbishment…

We have recently supplied and installed a double width Parklift 461 unit for a refurbished property in Hertfordshire. With a need for secure parking, Parklift 461 provides spaces for 4 cars, each up to 2.6 tonnes. Parklift buried units are available in a range of options including single and double widths and providing 1, 2 or 3 levels of parking.

Increased parking at new development…

We have provided an innovative parking solution for a new residential development at Waltham Cross, providing 22 spaces in an area that with traditional parking would have given only 6. With a requirement to maximise on-site parking, we provided two Combilift systems, with a drive-through Combilift 552 unit directly in front of a Combilift 551.

Dragon boat adventure…

Last year Wöhr sponsored a boat of paddlers at the Bristol Harbourside Dragon Boat Festival – raising money for the Animals Asia Foundation. Despite being soundly beaten by some rather more professional crews, the team managed to raise over £3,000 for the charity.

Welcome to the first issue of The Parking Lot, a periodical eNewsletter designed to showcase the latest news and product information from Wöhr Parking Systems / Car Lifts and also providing examples of project applications.

In this issue we feature an introduction to our new range of IdealPark car platform lifts as well as a review of some recently completed projects.

New Range of Car Platform Lifts…

Further to a 2010 trade agreement between Otto Wöhr (Germany) and IdealPark (Italy), we are delighted to announce that we have been appointed sole UK distributor for the IdealPark range of platform car lifts – the perfect compliment to our proven range of mechanical parking systems.

With over 50 years experience, IdealPark is a specialist in the design and manufacture of high quality lifts. The comprehensive range includes platform lifts which require substantially less headroom clearance and pit depths than conventional cabin lifts, with options for man/ non-man carrying and internal/ external applications. Towering Performance for Mercedes Dealership…

2010 saw us supply a stunning 22 metre high car display tower for the new Mercedes Benz Retail Group showroom at Brentford, alongside the elevated M4 motorway. With an installation period of just 3 months for the parking tower, the overall refurbishment and construction work was all undertaken while the site continued trading.

Car display towers feature in many European cities, but this is the first such installation in the UK. The Parksafe 580 provides a total of 16 car parking/ storage spaces on eight levels, allowing the dealer to not only display vehicles in the tower itself, but also to move them easily between the ground floor showroom and the upper gallery. The Complete Solution for Lakeside Parking…

Four Wöhr Parklift 462 car stacking systems have recently been installed in a drive through row in a stunning development of luxury apartments by the side of Lake Garda in Italy, where parking was severely constricted by narrow contours. When lowered, the units are driven over to access the next Parklift system.

Providing discrete, secure and safe parking for up to eight vehicles the Parklift systems are complemented by a Wöhr Turntable 505 to allow vehicles to be turned when exiting the property. Click here for more details of the special Parklift “hidden” units…

Parklift Helps Housing Association Solve Parking Problem…

A total of 18 double stacking Parklift 340 systems have recently been installed at International House in Woolwich for ASRA Greater London Housing Association, providing a total of 54 parking spaces. Because of height constraints, Parklift 340 systems were chosen as the units tilt in both the raised and lowered position, saving on both pit-depth and headroom.

What Goes Down…

In March we entered a corporate raffle to become the official shirt sponsor for Bristol Rovers for the 2011/12 season. Sadly we didn’t win (this is the second year of trying), but then perhaps it’s just as well as Rovers have just been relegated to the second division of the football league! Still in our business, we’re used to vertical movement – hopefully next season will be an ‘up’!
